mother of the bride outfits 19 by Editorial Zone

We are entering a new phase in our lives. Our daughter was married last year and our son is planning his wedding. He is marrying a very wonderful young woman. Our daughter married a fine young man. My husband and I are truly feeling that we have been doubly blessed, first with our own healthy successful children and then with wonderful in-laws.
Our future daughter-in-law has had a strained relationship with her mother. The two of them tend to argue about everything. My future daughter-in-law asked me to go shopping with them to look for mother of the bride outfits. She was hoping that her mother would not start an argument if I was present. I told her that I would go along to look for the mother of the bride outfits; however I asked why her mother did not go and look by herself. My future daughter in law told me that she was concerned that her mother would look at mother of the bride outfits that would be inappropriate. Her mother likes to be the center of attention so she fears that she would purchase a dress for the wedding that will be very revealing or in some way inappropriate.
I had not bought a dress for the wedding yet so I thought I would look for myself at the same time that we were looking at mother of the bride outfits. My son?s future mother in law is a very loud woman. She has an average figure; however she dresses more like a teenager than a woman in her late forty?s. On the day we went shopping she was wearing hip hugger jeans with a top that left too much of her belly showing to be in good taste. Her make up was quite heavy and she was wearing heels that were too high for her to walk in comfortably. When my husband saw her coming up the sidewalk he joked that she looked like Peg Bundy from the television show. I could not get that image out of my head for the rest of the shopping day.
Many of the clerks raised their eye brows when we came into the stores to look at mother of the bride outfits. My poor future daughter-in-law was embarrassed by her mother several times through the afternoon. I did find a simple navy blue dress that was sleeveless with a short jacket to go with it. The clerk complimented me on the good taste in the outfit. After this the mother of the bride was willing to look at less frilly and revealing outfits. She did not pick one out that day so I still do not know what she will look like on the day of the wedding.
