I am always amazed at the influence some pieces of literature have on the world. If you truly sit down and ponder this issue, you may have an epiphany of sorts. How much credit do we give to spiritual books? It's endless and often questionable. So many individuals take these ancient pieces of literature and pour their entire faith, soul and trust into them like it's no big thing. I have to ask, "WHY?" Have you ever asked yourself why? If your answer is no, then maybe it's time you did. There is much out there to be explored. The last thing I encourage anyone to do is merely take another person's word on issues regarding religion/creeds/spiritual beliefs. Investigate a little or a lot.
I recall the very first spiritual text I came in contact with. It was "The Holy Bible." I'm positive that many people can state the very same. This is where it commonly begins. Our folks push religion in our faces at a young age. This is to be expected because the same occurred with them and their parents. It's only natural that they pass on the tradition. But, on the other hand, what if this creed is not for us? What if we question or doubt it? This is completely human also. Anyone who says they've never doubted spiritual books such as the "King James' Bible," is lying. This is a part of us. It's in our nature and it isn't going anywhere. Seeing is often believing with us humans. And if we don't see anything tangible, we eventually begin to question. Not to mention the horrors of our world. So many heinous acts occur that leave us puzzled. They don't add up to what is preached in spiritual books. No one can truly explain why a 5 year old child is raped and murdered. All they generally have to say regarding spirituality and religion is "They're in a better place no." Well, isn't that great! Plenty of sarcasm in that last statement.
If you're one of the few who've steered clear of creeds and spirituality thus far, then I do encourage you to investigate spiritual books with an open mind. Don't judge just yet. Read on, learn on, and even take course on the subject matter. This is a great way to evolve to your own standing regarding spirituality and spiritual books altogether. Who knows? You may end up with a creed of your own.
