No Insurance
There are many reasons why you should not run around with no insurance coverage on your home, car or even on yourself. You may think you can get away with it, and maybe you can, but that is not the point. There are laws about having car insurance, and if you have a mortgage you may have to have insurance on your home, but have you considered the other side of the coin. You may have to have them, but you also need to have them. You never know what will happen today, tomorrow or next week, and you have to do what you can to prepare yourself if something really bad goes down. Don?t think you are immune to bad luck; we all have it once in a while.
What would happen if your house burned down and you have no insurance? You would not only be responsible for rebuilding your home or buying a new one, you would still have to pay off your old mortgage if you still have one. It hardly seems to be worth it if you think about it. In most cases, fire insurance is not that much and hopefully you will never need it. It is far better to pay a little more than you think you should than to be caught with no insurance on your home.
In most states, if you get caught with no insurance on your car you are going to have to pay fines and you may lose your registration. You may not be able to get your car registered in the first place if you don?t have insurance. Though I know there are some exceptions, it is illegal to drive without the minimum liability insurance on your car. If you are in an accident and you have no insurance, you will be responsible for all costs and you could be sued to recover that money if you don?t have it.
You may also think it is Ok to have no insurance on yourself. If you have a dangerous or risky job, your company may have insurance on you but it will only cover you while you are at work. If something happens to you at any other time, your family will be out of luck. If you have no insurance you will be leaving your family in a predicament they may never climb out of. You should at least have enough insurance to cover your funeral and to give your family at least what you would make in a year if something were to happen to you.
