groovy girl dolls 03 by Editorial Zone

I have seen endless seas of toys, stuffed animals, board games, and puzzles to last a lifetime. But, am I through with the toy shopping and searching routine? Of course not. With a seven year only daughter on my hands, I'm not even close. Recently I have noticed a few changes though. The classic Barbie Doll spiel is lagging behind a bit. My daughter has more of an interest in the contemporary Bratz and Groovy Girl dolls. This could mean trouble for the age-old perfect blond. Maybe the newer lines of toys will stifle Barbie's fame and push her right off the many Christmas lists of young girls.

One day I was browsing through the local Nordstrom's department store. My four year old daughter and I were lingering as my wife tried on countless articles of clothing in a nearby dressing room. Suddenly I felt a yank on my hand. I peer down to see my little girl pulling me toward something in particular. It was none other than Groovy Girl dolls. She could have spotted them a mile away with her keen kid vision. So off we went to examine the bright and colorful Groovy Girl dolls by hand. If you have a child, you know the routine. They have to pick up and closely scrutinize everything. In a matter of seconds, my daughter was pleading with me to purchase a Groovy Girl doll and car. This is when I caught an eye full of the price tag. WOW, Groovy Girl dolls are definitely not cheap! And the car was a bit ridiculous. 50 bucks for a stuffed vehicle? I could buy a cool Tonka truck for half of that or less. But, as always, toy trends change and prices go up. Now, three years down the road, my daughter has quite the collection of Groovy Girl dolls, pets, vehicles and accessories. She still loves them like she did back then. At least they are getting some wear and tear.

What's on the old Christmas list this year? Wait; if you have a little lady in the house, I'll bet Bratz and/or Groovy Girl dolls are somewhere on that wish list. Two new Groovy Girl dolls and a new Groovy Girl jet ski is on my daughter's list. I may as well get used to this toy craze for now. Things will most likely get pricier when puberty hits.
